As President of Clarus Wealth Management, Dave Laidlaw has worked extensively in the field of wealth management and works with a diverse clientèle that includes retirees, professionals, high-net-worth individuals, and small-business owners. 

 

After attending Kalamazoo College, Dave worked in the property/casualty business, eventually becoming a national account supervisor, overseeing all litigation and his client's multi-million dollar insurance exposures.  While working, he attending Thomas M. Cooley Law School at night.  As part of his curriculum, he worked for six months in a free legal clinic devoted to clients aged 60 plus.  After law school Dave continued his career by working at a well respected estate planning law firm in metro-Detroit.  A few years later, after opening his own law firm, Dave began working with a financial planning firm as general counsel.  Experience at a second financial planning firm prompted Dave to form Clarus Wealth Management.  His time is now spent almost exclusively in financial planning and wealth management.  Dave's unique background gives him a common sense experience and approach that suits his clients.  He is also served as an adjunct professor of law at Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
